Everything below is how training with me actually runs — booking, packs, memberships, and the rules I hold people to. If something isn't answered here, text me at (540) 324-9603.
Getting started
I've never worked with a trainer. Where do I start?
Book a single drop-in session. There's no contract to sign and no package to commit to. Come train, see whether we work well together, and decide after. Most people who end up on a membership start this way.
Do I need to be in shape already?
No. That's the job. Sessions are built around what you can do right now, not what you think you should be able to do.
Is there anything I have to sign?
Yes — a liability waiver, before your first session. It's built into the booking page, so you'll sign it when you book. It takes about thirty seconds and you only do it once.
Booking sessions
How does booking work?
Two ways, depending on what you've bought:
- If you have a pack or membership — go to the booking page, enter your email, and pick a time. The session comes off your balance automatically. Nothing to pay at booking.
- If you're new or out of sessions — pick your time first, then you'll be sent to checkout to pay for it. Your slot is held for 30 minutes while you do.
How far ahead can I book?
45 days.
How late can I book?
One hour ahead at the primary space. Four hours ahead anywhere off-site, because I have to get there. If you need something sooner than that, text me — the website won't let you, but I might still be able to.
Can I book the same time every week?
Yes, and most membership clients do. Text me and I'll hold a standing slot for you rather than you re-booking it each week.
How do I cancel?
Your confirmation email has a code. Enter it and your email on the booking page and you can cancel yourself, any time — see the cancellation rules below before you do.
Cancellations and no-shows
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 24 hours out and it costs you nothing — the session goes straight back into your balance.
Inside 24 hours, or a no-show, and the session is charged in full. If you're on a pack, that session is spent. If you're on a membership, it uses one of that month's sessions.
That seems harsh.
It's the standard for one-on-one coaching, and it's the reason I can hold a specific hour for you instead of overbooking. That said, I'm a person and life happens. If something genuinely goes wrong, tell me — I can waive a charge, and I do. What I can't do is run a business where the calendar means nothing.
What if I'm just running late?
Come anyway. We'll train with the time that's left; the session ends when it was always going to end, because someone else may be booked after you.
Packs and memberships
What's the difference?
A pack is a block of sessions you buy up front and use whenever — good if your schedule is unpredictable. A membership bills monthly at a lower per-session rate — better if you train consistently, and it includes the analytics dashboard free.
Do pack sessions expire?
Yes, six months from purchase. That's long enough for any reasonable schedule and short enough that packs don't sit unused for years.
How do membership sessions work month to month?
A membership gives you a monthly pool, not a weekly quota. A 2x/week membership is 8 sessions a month, and you can use them however you like — four one week, one the next. They roll over within your billing month, but they don't carry into the next month. A busy week doesn't cost you anything; a quiet month does.
Can I cancel a membership?
Any time. It stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for, and there's no partial refund for the rest of that month.
Can I pause a membership?
Talk to me. I handle these case by case rather than as a blanket policy.
Are sessions refundable?
Generally no — but documented medical reasons and relocation are exceptions, and unused sessions can be transferred to someone else. If you're in an odd situation, ask rather than assuming.
Semi-private and group
How does semi-private pricing work?
Rates are per person, and both people book. You're getting the same individual programming as a 1-on-1 session, just sharing the hour.
What if my partner doesn't show?
If you're training alone, you're charged the 1-on-1 rate — unless your partner cancelled inside the 24-hour window, in which case you pay the normal semi-private rate and they're charged for the late cancellation. You're never penalised for someone else's no-show.
How big are group classes?
Capped at 8. That's the number where I can still correct everyone's lifts.
Locations and the off-site fee
Where do sessions happen?
My primary training space is the default and carries no extra charge. I also train at Focus Fitness Lab and can come to you.
What's the off-site fee?
A flat $25 per appointment — not per person — for training anywhere other than my primary space. Focus Fitness Lab included. It covers travel, vehicle cost, and the facility fee, and it's billed separately from the session itself.
Can I do semi-private off-site?
Only as a pair — exactly two people, firm minimum and maximum. It isn't offered for one person off-site, and it doesn't extend past two.
The analytics dashboard
What is it?
Custom-built tracking of your estimated 1-rep max, training volume, personal records, and recovery trends, with automated flags when you're progressing, plateauing, or pushing too hard. It's built around our actual work together rather than being a generic app.
Do I have to pay for it?
Not if you're on a 1-on-1, semi-private, or online membership — it's included. For pack clients, drop-in clients, and Group Class Unlimited members it's $15/mo.
