About Brady

I'm Brady Ward. I hold a B.S. in Exercise Science and I'm NASM certified, and I spent three years coaching individuals at Rockbridge Barbell before going independent. I train people in and around Lexington, Virginia.

How I coach

Every program starts from the client's goal, not from a template I already had written. That sounds obvious. It isn't how most training actually works — plenty of coaching is a fixed program handed to whoever walks in, with the client expected to fit it.

In practice my work spans a wide range. On one end, performance training with high school athletes: getting stronger and faster for a sport, on a timeline set by their season. On the other, daily functionality work with older adults: staying capable, keeping balance and strength, being able to do the things that make independence possible. Those are different jobs. Running both well is the point.

What holds across all of it is that the programming responds to what actually happened last session, not what was supposed to happen. I track your training — loads, volume, personal records, recovery — and adjust from real numbers. Every client gets access to that data through a dashboard I built, so progress isn't something you take my word for.

What working with me is like

You get the full hour. There's no gym floor to share, no waiting on a rack, no coach splitting attention between four people who each thought they'd booked one-on-one time.

I'll tell you the truth about your training. If your form is breaking down, you'll hear it. If you're progressing well, you'll hear that too, with the numbers behind it. If the plan isn't working, we change the plan rather than blaming your consistency.

I also keep the business side simple and predictable: clear rates, no contracts to trap you, a cancellation policy that's firm but applied by a person who knows the difference between a pattern and a bad week.

Where I train people

My primary space is on Henry Hill Dr in Fairfield, just outside Lexington. I also train at Focus Fitness Lab in downtown Lexington, and I can come to you — both of those carry a flat off-site fee.

If you're deciding whether this is worth it, book a single session. No package, no commitment. Come train and see.
